Spring Area Homemaker Lessons

All 2020-2021 homemaker lessons have been presented virtually. Materials for the remaining lessons will be accessible online at oldham.ca.uky.edu/oc-homemakers. Print versions are available upon request.

In Savings Savvy, learn how to save time and money using grocery apps. More than just digital coupons, grocery apps also help with lists and meal planning, comparison shopping, store loyalty, and rebates. You will learn what types of apps are available, considerations before selecting an app, and other moneysaving grocery tips.

Whatever the season, Kentucky farmers’ markets and personal gardens yield some of the world’s best fruits and vegetables! This lesson focuses on Plate It Up! Kentucky Proud, a program developed to educate consumers on locally grown produce and its use in meal preparation. A variety of recipes have been developed, and new recipes are added each year. You will learn about origins, nutrient content, and uses for many traditional (as well as nontraditional) fruits and vegetables grown in Kentucky.
